Chrocicle

The first document about the estate "in der Lacken" dates back to the year 1400; the small local chapel was mentioned in 1461. The multitude of different owners shows us the important history of this property.

Since 1562 it verifiably has been sold 29 times and handed down only 10 times, thereof since 1839 in the direct succession of members of the Kendler family.

The wooden residential building and the working quarters were completely destroyed by fire in the years 1750 and 1930, each time on June 12th. The building of the inn, which the family had begun in the 1920ies, had already answered to all requirements at that time and was therefore the model for the reconstruction after the second fire 1930. From 1933 to 1939 the house was used as a holiday camp for pupils from Vienna and only after the second World War, in the late fiftieth a small restaurant was added to the farmhouse. Due to a very quick development as a destination for vacation and recovery and to the growth of tourism the estate could soon be extended to a country inn with 50 beds and therefore in 1968 the farm was closed. A second lounge was added and the former stable was changed to a working area. In the threshing floor further guest rooms and a cosy recreation-room were built. The extension of the building (built from 1978 to 1980) offers the most spacious rooms of the house. In the last years the works of the re-building were continued. Today we offer our guests 16 comfortable rooms (34 beds) with up-to-date equipment, mostly with balcony.

In the place of the swimming pool, which was built in 1965 and extensively modernized in 2008, in previous years there was the “High lake” (pond), which gave the name to the farm and the house
