Excursions

One of the most attractive destinations in the Salzkammergut is mount Schafberg (sheep mountain). A historic cog railway runs from St. Wolfgang to the mountain top. Due to the scenery of the surrounding landscape, it is one of the most popular mountain excursions of the Salzkammergut. Also mount Zwölferhorn is a wonderful hiking resort in summer. You can climb this mountain within 3 hours, starting your tour directly behind the Hochlackenhof. If you prefer a more convenient alternative, you can use the cable car from St. Gilgen up to mount Zwölferhorn
